William Thomas Henson, Jr.
February 27, 1948 - June 20, 2017
William Thomas Henson (Bill), much loved brother, husband, uncle, nephew, and friend joined his Savior and loved ones in heaven, leaving this earth peacefully at 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20th from his home in Ozark, where he lived with his brother Patrick Henson. Bill, an auto mechanic with a magic touch when it came to repairing cars, served his country in the Armed Services in Vietnam. Although his health was failing in his last years, he was always cheerful and full of jokes and fun. When you called him on the phone, you knew you had the right number when he answered "ObbleDeebleDop!" and whether on the phone or in person, he was soon asking, "Have you heard the one _ _ _ _ _ ?" and then you heard his latest joke. His greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. He closed his phone conversations or personal time with others with a cheerful "God Bless You!" Then your day was made brighter.
Bill joined the U.S. Army at the age of 18. He was a decorated veteran who was honorably discharged after his service to our country in Vietnam. He worked with his brothers in a Standard Oil Service Station in York, Nebraska. After seven years, he moved to Ozark, Missouri and worked in a family owned Phillips Service Station and eventually opened Henson Brothers Automotive in Ozark with his brother Patrick. When Bill married and moved to Pleasant Hope, Missouri he worked as a valued employee of Aaron's Automotive in Springfield, MO until his retirement.
Bill attended the United Methodist Church of Pleasant Hope where was also baptized.
Preceding Bill into eternity was his father, William Thomas Henson, Sr., his mother, Laurena (Weter) Henson, and one brother, Stephen Ward Henson.
Surviving family members include: his wife, Lou Henson, his brother, Patrick Boyd Henson, his sister Barbara Dale (Henson-Wall) Milburn, nephews, Dru Wall, Charles Patrick Henson (lovely wife Shannon), and Daniel Milburn, nieces, Dawn Michelle (Wall) Goeres, and Dena Milburn, great nephews, Colten Wall and Henry Henson, great nieces, Gracie Milburn and Olivia Henson, step-children, Eddie, Tammy, David, Tonya, Daniel and Jeanetta, and granddaughter, Angelina, aunts and uncles, Charlene Turner, Myrna Highlander, Freeman Swearengin, Gary and Jacque (Weter) Neuenschwander, Ray and Sheri Weter, and many cousins.
