William Lee "Bill" Jackson, age 86, of Ozark, passed away June 10, 2016. He was born January 5, 1930 in Chestnutridge, the son of Fred and Florence (Viles) Jackson. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard.
Bill retired in 1982 from Contel Telephone Company. He was a true cowboy who enjoyed mule drawn covered wagon rides. He enjoyed spending summer months fishing and traveling, and was a gifted woodworker, as well. Bill was a faithful and beloved member of Victory Baptist Church. He and his childhood friend, Blanche, were married July 2, 2005.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Melba; three sisters, Beulah McCoy, Ruth Lewis, and Helen Angus; three brothers, Jackie, Ralph Jr., and Charles Jackson; two step-sons Sammy McCoy and Douglas McCoy; and a step-daughter-in-law, Jonnie McCoy.
Survivors include: His wife, Blanche; a son, Gale Jackson and wife Karen of Halltown; five step-children, Diane Palmer and husband Dave of Tampa, Florida, Danny McCoy of Sparta, Donnie McCoy and wife Debbie of Springfield, Darrell McCoy of Ozark, and Melissa Knudsen and husband Clint of Seymour; grandchildren, Tamika Reach, Whitney Bressler, Christian Palmer, Dani Jo Preston, Chad McCoy, Carol Beth Mundy, Caleb McCoy, Katlin Humble, and Bailey Skidmore; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Jackson and wife Joyce of Everton.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 14, at Victory Baptist Church, Ozark, with Rev. Bob Long and Dr. Richard Eakins officiating. Burial will follow in Chaves Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
