Wellman, “Will,” was born to Harry and Edith Lindstrom on August 4, 1941 in Denison, Iowa. He spent his childhood in Kiron and Odebolt, Iowa. As a young man he was an honor student, an all-state basketball player, and he also participated in many musical activities. Will graduated from Odebolt Arthur High School in 1959.
Following graduation, he was employed as a loan officer at Toy National Bank in Sioux City, Iowa. He then served in the Air Force National Guard and went on to work in the sales field for fifty years. In 2017, he retired from work at the Ozark Wal-Mart, which was a job that he genuinely loved. In 1987 Will married Arlene Bartels in Kimberling City, Missouri, where they resided until moving to Nixa, Missouri in 1988. Will truly loved his home and family.
He leaves behind wife, Arlene, Nixa, Missouri; daughter Kelley Niemeyer (Kevin), Collinsville, Illinois; stepson Bryson Bartels, Lincoln, Nebraska; granddaughter Chloe Grace Seeger, Carbondale, IIlinois; brother Larry Lindstrom, Frontenac, Kansas; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to Cassidy United Methodist Church.
The family is hosting a memorial service for Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Cassidy Methodist Church in Fremont Hills. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service in the church. Floral arrangements are to be delivered to the church.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory, Ozark.
