Wilbern T. Moore of Nixa, MO, passed away Sunday morning, February 11, 2018 at the age of 92. He was the third son of Leslie W. and Dora (McConnell) Moore, who preceded him in death.
Wilbern was a veteran of WWII, serving in the 75th Infantry Division, The Battle of the Bulge and numerous other conflicts until the end of the war in Europe.
Upon his return from service after the war, Wilbern married Ruth Meacheam of Clever. After 53 years of marriage, Ruth preceded him in death. Also, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven, a daughter Susan, three brothers, James, Roland & Bob Moore.
He is survived by one brother, Paul Moore (Judy) of Nixa; one brother-in-law Loyd Meacheam (Wanda); four sisters-in-law, Nancy Moore, Rena Moore, Mary Moore, and Betty Sue Meacheam; a special niece, Connie Harp; numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Wilbern was a graduate of Nixa High School, a dairy farmer for many years, and in later life a bookkeeper for the Wisner Feed Mill in Nixa.
He was a devoted Christian and lifelong member of the Nixa Church of Christ.
A special thanks to the nurses and workers at The Maples Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, especially Lori, Lois, Irma, Simone, Julie and Darla for their love and care during his stay the The Maples.
Services will be held at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM followed by the funeral at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in McConnell Cemetery.
