Wesley Randall Roller, age 88, of Sparta, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, with his wife, daughter and two granddaughters at his side.
Wesley was born October 16, 1935, in Sparta, Missouri to Jamie and Emogene Anderson Roller. He was married for 66 years to Violet McHaffie, which started with a blind date in December of 1956, and then she became his bride on June 2, 1957.
Wesley owned and operated a gas station in Sparta, as well as a hard working farmer owning his own dairy operation for over 32 years, while also managing a beef operation. Wesley sold Vigortone Minerals for many years, and drove a milk truck route for the Major Cheese Company in Ozark. He enjoyed driving the school bus and being with all of the children. He also worked for the Farm Service Agency Board for 15 years. Wesley was a volunteer for the Sparta Ambulance service, and a Democrat Committee man for many years.
Wes loved the Lord and was baptized at an early age on December 9, 1948 and restored, March 31, 2010. Wesley was a member of the Sparta Church of Christ, and he loved people, as he never met a stranger. Above all, Wesley loved and enjoyed his family, friends, and especially all of his grandchildren.
Wesley is survived by his wife Violet, daughter, Shanna and Rick Thompson of Kansas City; 12 grandchildren, Rishona and David Jones, of Winter Garden, Florida; Misty and Cory Jadwin of Kansas City; Angela and Will Foster of Kansas City; Jeremiah and Brandy Roller, Justin and Amber Roller, and JoAnna Roller all of Sparta, Lindsey and Ben Rogers of 29 Palms, California; Dandy and Bryan Myles, and Candy Roller all of Springfield, Virginia and John Leonard, Jesse Roller, Mence “Minnie” Roller all of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; 24 great grandchildren, three great great granddaughters; a brother, Dale Roller and wife and Cathy of Sparta; and a sister in law, Juanita Roller and husband Rex Phillips of Rogersville, Missouri.
Wesley is preceded in death by his parents; Jamie and Emogene Roller; his sons John Wesley Roller and Randall Bruce Roller; great grandsons, Quentin Robinson, and Samson Rogers; a brother Donald Roller and his wife Barbara; a brother Ival Roller; nieces, Donna June Roller, April Roller Hotz; and a nephew, John Lesley Roller.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, In Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, officiated by Ted Spencer and Tyler Bird, with a visitation just prior to the service at 1:00. Burial will be in Temple Hill Cemetery, Fordland, Missouri.
