Wendell Glenn Edie, age 70, of Nixa, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015. He was born February 5, 1945 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Lowell James Edie and Opal Nadine (Channel) Edie. He was a 1962 graduate of Purdy High School, and also graduated from Missouri State University in 1967. He and Janet Carol Hilton were united in marriage in 1964. Wendell taught industrial arts in Carl Junction for two years before beginning his career as an industrial engineer. He worked in Joplin and in 1977 moved to Tulsa. Wendell retired from Braden-Carco-Gearmatic in 2007. He enjoyed working outdoors on the farm and restoring old cars and tractors. His other hobbies included tennis and bowling. He is survived by his wife, Janet; two children, Patrick David Edie and wife Jennifer of Jenks, OK, and Carin Elizabeth White and husband Jamison of Springfield; two grandsons, Ryan Edie and Jeremy White; a sister, Patsy Ann Terry and husband Herbert of Springfield; nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral will be 12:30 PM Wednesday, April 8, in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora. Visitation will be 9:30 - 11:30 AM Wednesday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Memorials in Wendell's name may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation in care of the funeral home.
