Wayne Cornett

Joe Wayne Cornett, age 82, of Nixa passed away Monday, March 27, 2017. He was born December 10, 1934 in Huntsville, AR to Ralph and Bessie (Westbrook) Cornett. Wayne served in the Army in Germany during the Cold War. Wayne married Clara Bowser-Cornett November 14, 1974, in Houston, MO. While in Ontario CA, he bartended in the late 1960's and was a house mover from the late 1960's into the 1970's. Wayne was a foreman for Armstrong Nurseries and his specialty was propagating millions of roses. He loved farming and raising cattle. Wayne is survived by his wife Clara of 42 years; step-children Peggy Kubicek, husband John, Lyle Cornett, Linda Richardson, Ernest Cornett, wife Janet, and Dolores Williams, husband Harvey; a sister Tilda Ventry; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Arthur Cornett, Paul Cornett, Grace Branum, Ewell Cornett and George Cornett. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, March 31, 2017 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will be at 2:00 PM following the funeral service at Bado Cemetery, Bado, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
