Wanda Morlynn Applegate, age 92, formerly of Oldfield, Missouri, passed away in Colorado, Thursday, November 3, 2016. She was born August 6, 1924 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Pearl (Starnes) Davis. Wanda grew up in Springfield, and on October 17, 1944 she and Glenn W. Applegate were united in marriage. They lived in Oldfield until moving to Colorado in 1960. Following Glenn's retirement they returned to Oldfield in 1978. Glenn preceded Wanda in death in 2003. She then returned to Colorado to be near family.
Wanda was a wonderful homemaker for her eight children and husband. She enjoyed quilting. In later years she loved to read and study her bible.
Survivors include: Her eight children, Gwendolyn Kay and Harry Averill of Crawford, Colorado, Nedra Barr of Oldfield, Renetta Applegate of Delta, Colorado, Rebecca Cooper of Delta, Colorado, Sue and Steven Casebolt of Grand Junction, Colorado, Curtis Applegate of Aspen, Colorado, Clon Applegate of Oldfield, and Joe and Tanya Applegate of Hotchkiss, Colorado; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Bob Davis and wife Sparkie; and three sisters, June Rice, Lou Metzger, and Jeri Fuggitt.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, a brother Frankie Davis, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, November 11, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Dale Roller officiating. Burial will follow in Old Boston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Friday.
To know Wanda was to love her. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
