Walter Wesley Sellers

January 24, 1931 — February 8, 2015

Walter Sellers passed away peacefully in his home in Nixa, MO on February 8, 2015 at the age of 84. Walter is survived by his wife Nona Sexton Sellers, children; Deb Broadway, husband Mark, and Kay Semans. Sister Arlene Schoenfelder from Kirkville, New York. Grandchildren; Magen Felten husband Aaron, Joshua Broadway, wife Jessica, Aaron Semans, Daryl Semans, fianc�e Kellee Sanford, Casey Broadway, wife Marquita and 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Walter was born on January 24, 1931 in Syracuse New York to Webster Sellers and Francis Hughs. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1948 and served as a Forward Observer in the Korean War. After the Army, he began working as an aircraft mechanic with TWA from 1964 to 1991 where he retired. Walter was an accomplished organ player, golfer and fisherman. He was an active and dedicated member of Union Hill Church of Christ. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 P.M. in Union Hill Church of Christ in Nixa, Friday, February 20, 2015. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be given to Fair Haven Children's Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
