Virginia Delphine Morrow, 101 years, 9 months and 18 days, passed away peacefully in her Sparta home April 15, 2023. She was born June 27, 1921, in Modale, Iowa the daughter of Delbert and Margaret Hammer. On September 21, 1940 she married the love of her life, Glen Morrow also of Modale. They farmed for many years. She was manager of the audit and advertising department D.L. Blair Corporation Blair, Nebraska where she retired.
After retirement, she and Glen enjoyed many happy years of traveling together throughout the U.S.
Virginia was a charter member plus past president of the Modale Legion Auxiliary; a longtime
member of Missouri Valley, Iowa Christian Church, and most recently the First Baptist Church of Ozark, Missouri. Virginia loved her Lord and Savior. She was an accomplished artist, giving most paintings away as gifts to her family, whom she loved dearly. She was a devoted wife of 68 years and beloved mother of three.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Glen Morrow; sister Glendora (Otto) Sahn; brother Harold (Helen) Hammer; brother Jerry (Shirley) Hammer; a daughter, Linda Watkins; and a son, Wayne Morrow.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Carole Bond of Sparta; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; other family members and caring friends. She was an inspiration to everyone who met her. She will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Ozark, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Dr. Phillip Burden officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. immediately before the memorial service at the church.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory, Ozark. A graveside service will be held in Iowa at a later date.
