Virginia Carrol Mitchell, age 73, of Chadwick, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016. She was born April 16, 1943 in Chadwick, where she continued to live throughout her life. She was the daughter of Billy Ray Weter, and Mary Ethlyn (Carter) Weter. Virginia was a very busy mother of nine children. She was a long time member of Garrison Missionary Baptist Church.
Virginia was a good Christian woman. She trusted and believed in others to a fault. She would give her last dime to others, and borrow money to pay for her own survival. She only saw the good in everyone.
Survivors include: Nine children, Garry Thomas Mitchell and Lacey of Oldfield, Jonathan Mitchell and Mary of Chadwick, Bill Mitchell and Linda of Chadwick, Mary Roller, Jane McGinnis and Jim of Bradleyville, James "Winky" Mitchell and Misty of Pleasant Hope, Caroline Reese and Teresa of Chadwick, Ellen Layson and Frank of Forsyth, and Rebecca Matthews and Shane of Chadwick; 25 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a brother Bob Weter and Sandy of Sparta; a sister, Teresa Pennington and Bill of Wichita, KS; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Garry Dale Mitchell.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 27, in Garrison Missionary Baptist Church, Garrison, with Pastor Jonathan Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Swansville Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 PM Tuesday in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
