Veroque June Norton, age 78, of Ozark, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 in her home. She was born July 22, 1939 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of John and Beulah (Steele) Begley. Veroque grew up in Elmore City, Oklahoma and graduated from high school there. She received a Teachers Degree from East Central University in Oklahoma and later received her Master's Degree. She taught 3rd and 4th grade in the Lawton, Oklahoma public school for 30 years before retirement.
She and Ivan Roy Norton were married March 14, 1964. He preceded her in death in 2012, as well as three brothers, a sister, and her parents. Veroque and Ivan had lived in Ozark since 1994.
Survivors include: A daughter, Lorie June Norton-Snyder and husband Jay of Ozark; a son, Ivan Dee Norton and wife Amy of Rogersville; grandchildren, Sarah Norton of Ozark, Jacob Norton of Rogersville, Jon Johnston and wife Ashlee of Lawton, Oklahoma, T.J. Snyder and wife Brittany of Marshfield, and David Synder and wife Keonnie of Eldon, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Faith Phillips of Ozark, Amelia Johnston of Lawton, Oklahoma, Emma, Keira, and Lyla Snyder of Marshfield, and Jacob and Sheanta Snyder of Eldon, Iowa; a sister, Margaret Millholen; and a brother, Wayne Begley.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 13, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Robert Long officiating. Burial will follow in Vaughn-Oddfellows Cemetery, Ozark.
