Vera Lucille Dye, age 92, Highlandville, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011. She was born November 14, 1918 in Sabetha, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Minnie Ellen (Stiles) Zeigler. On August 11, 1934 she was united in marriage to Ernest Milo Dye, who preceded her in death in 1996. Lucille was the oldest living member of the First Central Baptist Church at Green Mound where she had been a member for more than 70 years. Survivors include: three children, Jim Dye, Highlandville, Glenn Dye and wife Carolyn, Highlandville, and Bonnie and George Bishop, Highlandville; six grandchildren, Kim Dye and Diana Price, Russell and Tim Bishop and Paula Bernard and Joe Dye; 13 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; and 13 brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastor Randy Milnes officiating. Burial will follow in Highlandville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to First Central Baptist Church at Green Mound.
