It is always unfortunate and saddening when we lose a family member. Especially someone like Velma, who represented one of the last pillars of the Henne Family. However, we should not feel sorry for Velma. Rather, we should be envious and happy for her. We can only hope to be as lucky. She survived 95 long years on this earth in almost perfect health. She often reflected on how happy and fulfilled her life had been. Velma and her lifelong husband, Richard, were able to spend 65 years in loving marriage. Together they experienced the dream.....A great life of Children, Grandchildren, Travel, Fishing, Family Gatherings, Gardening, Gambling, and Retirement. Today, after 3 long years, they are rejoining each other's company.
Velma was born in Miner, Mo on Jan. 28, 1927, by her parents, Fred and Janie Rogers. She spent her childhood in Christian County. Richard and Velma spent their years residing in Germany, California, Washington, Georgia, and Missouri. They finally settled in Nixa, Mo where she worked as a seamstress. Velma outlived all four of her siblings (Clyde Rogers, Earl Rogers, Nola Patrick, Opal Maples). Unfortunately, she also outlived her husband (Richard) and son (Rick). She is survived by her Grandson (Jeremy Henne), Nephew (Ed Patrick), and 4 Nieces (Deann Nincehelser, Sherry Cunningham, Cindy Coble. Sharron Bolinger).
95 years of this world through Velma's eyes must have been amazing. What she has experienced is something to be admired and inspired by. Velma was a Classy Lady. She was also kind, loving, thoughtful, resilient, regimented, disciplined and a little stubborn. Ok, maybe a lot stubborn. She will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace Mrs. H.
