Thomas A. Stewart was born March 26, 1937 in Logansport, Indiana, to Alexander and Elizabeth (Vance) Stewart. He attended Logansport High School and, after earning NROTC and National Merit Scholar awards, received his Bachelors degree from Northwestern University in 1959. He went on to earn his MBA from Butler University.
After graduation, he worked for Meullhausen Spring, Delco Division of General Motors, and started TA Stewart Interiors in Logansport which he owned and operated until 1985. His hobbies included golf, hunting, and fishing.
Tom married Charlene Forgeon in 1960 and had four children - Susan (Mark) Sakoi of Monument, CO; Cynthia Stewart of Palm Desert, CA; Andy (Kim) Stewart of Chesterfield, MO; and Tom (Carolyn) Stewart of Lawrence, KS - who all survive. His sister Jeanne (Ron) Gerow of Holland, Michigan also survives along with Tom's eight grandchildren.
Tom married Alvetta Atwell of Ozark, MO in 2012. Alvetta survives and tirelessly assisted Tom during his health struggles the last two years. Tom and Alvetta resided in Ozark, MO.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
