Tom Reeves, 79, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away July 30, 2016. He was born October 22, 1936, in Perry, Iowa, to Glen and Veneta Reeves. After graduating from Adel High School, Tom served in the Air National Guard. He went on to work for 23 years at the Des Moines Register and Tribune as a linotype operator, and then 22 years at the Bank of Lake of the Ozarks.
Tom was a charter member of PMECI, the Professional Musicians and Entertainers Club of Iowa, and was awarded Entertainer of the Year no less than twice. He performed on the television show Starlight Jubilee which appeared on Channel 5 in Ames, Iowa. Later, he was hired as a comedian/performer on Lee Mace's Ozark Opry at the Lake of the Ozarks. Outside of performing,
Tom enjoyed bluegrass music, golf, politics, and time with his family.
Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat; children: Shelly Smith (Don), Brian Reeves (Stacy); sister, Shirley Hunziker (Duane); and three grandchildren: Molly Reeves, Henry Reeves, and Ison Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. immediately before the funeral in the funeral home. Cremation will take place after the funeral.
