Thomas Handley Mayberry, age 76, of Springfield, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017. He was born May 24, 1940 in Lebanon, the son of Rolland W. and Ruby Jaye (Handley) Mayberry. He was a 1958 graduate of Ozark High School In 1960 he and Charlotte Anne Bennett were married. Tom graduated from SMS and received his MBA from Drury in 1966. While attending college, Tom worked for Fadler Foods and the Springfield Airport. After receiving his Master's degree Tom worked for Silver Dollar City. In 1976 he moved to McHenry Il, and was an employee of Six Flags until retirement in 1998. Tom and Charlotte moved to Springfield at that time.
Tom was a member of Schweitzer United Methodist Church in Springfield. He was a car enthusiast and loved driving cross country with his high school sweetheart, Charlotte.
Tom was preceded in death by a son, Bennett, his parents, and parents-in-law, Nancy and Lyman Bennett.
Survivors include: His wife Charlotte; two daughters and their husbands, Melissa and Aaron Hollander of Simsbury, CT, and Mariann Mayberry and Scott Jaeck of New York, NY; and two grandchildren, Madeline Hollander and David Thomas Hollander.
A funeral service will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, April 26, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. A reception will be from 3:00 PM until service time on Wednesday. A graveside service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, April 27, in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield.
