Theresa Ann Perks, age 66, passed away after a long illness December 26, 2012. She was born to Fredrick and Carol (Blakely) Brown October 1, 1946, in Springfield, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Menno Perks October 16, 1965. She was a member of Seminole Baptist Temple in Springfield. She was a clerk at Wal-Mart for many years and retired in 2007. Theresa was raised in a military family and traveled the world with her parents. She was also a military wife. Her husband was a career Marine. Theresa has said many times she would not trade her upbringing for anything. Theresa had a terrific sense of humor, even during her illness. She loved to tease, and could laugh at herself. Theresa was a tough lady, proved by her strength during her illness. Theresa is survived by Her husband, a son Mike Perks and his wife Patti, of Aurora, a daughter Sherry Jean, of Springfield, 3 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren; siblings Shirley Wagener, husband Chris, of Battlefield, Susan Matson, husband Les, of Greeley, CO, Fred Brown, Jr, wife Sandra, of Springfield, and Barbara (Brown) Adams, of Battlefield. Theresa is preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at Seminole Baptist Temple, Springfield, at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 5, 2013. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. .
