Tamara "Tammy" Lynn Campbell
April 7th, 1959 to June 10th, 2017
It is impossible to really make use of the past tense with regard to Tammy, because the impact on those fortunate enough to have had their lives touched by her is everlasting.
Our beloved Tamara Lynn Campbell found peace the afternoon of the tenth day of June, 2017 in the warmth of her home in Branson, Missouri. She was surrounded and embraced by a devoted assembly of loved ones.
Tammy courageously endured, resisted and fought through tremendous obstacles in the final six years of her life. She persevered through health issues which by rights should have been insurmountable. Yet time and again, the vigorous resolve of this remarkable woman spurred her onwards to each new day. Facing these challenges with selfless determination, she consistently set aside any of her own fears and concerned herself instead for the well-being of her loved ones and how they were being affected.
And while her body may have succumbed to ovarian cancer, the luminous quality of her spirit remains undiminished. For those privileged enough to love and be loved by her, that brilliant spirit carries on in every moment of every day and in every thought and action.
Tammy's wide array of gifts and reliably proved to be a linchpin throughout her history in banking, finance and health insurance. Her keen intelligence, practical wisdom, uncanny knack for problem-solving and ardent work ethic all assured that many an operation ran smoothly and soundly.
But Tammy's talents extend beyond the quantitative and well into the creative as a skilled craftswoman and hobbyist in many disciplines. In recent years, she was responsible for some of the most essential contributions and guidance for the burgeoning art studio of her devoted companion, Peter. The success of that endeavor was made possible thanks to her support and as with all things touched by Tammy, her influence lives on in every new work.
Tammy always put others first and she did so with a reserved grace: never seeking aggrandizement or adulation for her efforts. Instead, she acted with pure intent and did good for its own sake: be it a concerned knock on the door of a neighbor, an errand run for her mother, a phone call to her son, a text message to her sister, making a home for a stray cat - or a stray artist.
Tammy was never shy to offer an opinion and had a gift for saying what needed to be said, when it needed to be said. She also had a knack for doing this especially when the person listening did not want to hear it - but needed to hear it. And in time, the truth of her words would become evident if one was but to listen.
The most essential example she set was that the key to living is indeed, to live. Of her most important insights was to, "never go backwards."
That was and remains her great wish for her loved ones: move ever forward: that the best way to honor her is to live fully and with joy. And when the temptation to slip into dark places emerges, her light is there to offer guidance.
If one had to sum up Tammy's impact on the world in a single word, an appropriate choice would be, "inspiration." And there is no more revealing evidence of her capacity to inspire than in the boundless wealth of love held for her by so many who now carry her with them.
Among the family and friends who now carry Tammy's spirit onwards, none treasure her more so than her beloved parents Janet and Donald, sisters Donna and Glena, brother Michael, brothers-in-law David and Robert, sister-in-law Elizabeth, nieces Jenny, Michaela, Charli, Savannah, Kylie, Avery, Aspen and Quinn, nephews Jerid, Cody, Matt, Andy, Skye, Evan and Cameron, granddaughter Meara, grandson Cade, her only son - for whom she held an unwavering devotion and unbreakable love - Brent, and finally, her adoring companion of seventeen years, Peter, whose devotion to his great love extends through this and all possible worlds.
