Sybil Louise Uzzell, age 90 of Ozark, passed away March 9, 2024. She was born November 26, 1933 in Big Cabin, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elmer and Ruby (Ratcliff) Freelove.
On August 3, 1952, Sybil was united in marriage to Thomas Uzzell. Tom preceded Sybil in death on September 23, 2021.
Sybil was a homemaker. She also worked with her husband as plumbing dispatcher for their business. Earlier in her life she worked in nutrition services for Christian County. Sybil was a graduate of Central High School in Springfield. Her formal education also included taking accounting classes to assist in the family business. Sybil was an active pastor's wife and church planter with her husband. They started Apostolic Pentecostal churches in Ft. Collins, Colorado as well as in Arkansas, and in Ozark and Nixa, Missouri.
Sybil enjoyed crocheting, canning, playing the organ and accordion, listening to books on CD from the library, and reading the Bible.
Survivors include: her children, Steven Uzzell and wife Arleta of Springfield, Timothy Uzzell of Ozark and Teresa Lowry and husband Jerry Bob of Tennessee; grandchildren, Racheal Greer and husband David of Tennessee, Sarah Lyons and husband Matthew of Tennessee, Kimberly Uzzell and wife Audra of Ash Grove; Steven Uzzell and wife Bre of Festus. Jared Beall of Springfield, Joseph Beall and wife Autumn of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Desiree Eddings and husband Raymond of Battlefield, and Arley Beall of Springfield; great grandchildren, Sapphire Lewis and husband Brandon of Springfield, Autumn Uzzell of Ash Grove, Anthony Wooten of Florida, Alyssa Greer of Tennessee, Morgan Uzzell and fiancé Megan Sage of Festus, Shaun Uzzell and wife Courtney of Poplar Bluff, and Bethany, Kristen, Sophia and Nicholas Eddings of Battlefield; two great great grandsons, Hudson Lewis and Emery Lewis of Springfield; and her sisters, Shirley Emerson and husband Phil, Kathlene Warrick and Nancy Freelove.
In addition to her husband, Sybil was preceded in death by her parents.
A Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastor Joel Holmes officiating, with a visitation time from 10-11 A.M. Immediately before the funeral. Burial will follow the funeral service at Weaver Cemetery, Ozark.
