Susan "Susy" Wheeler

Susan Nell “Susy” Wheeler, age 75, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022.  She was born March 25, 1946, the daughter of Max Glenn Wheeler and Mary Francis (Flynn) Wheeler.  Susy grew up in Ozark and was a 1964 graduate of Ozark High School and received a bachelor’s degree from SMS (Missouri State University).  Before retirement Susy was a social worker with the Missouri State Division of Aging for many years.

Susy was a dedicated and loving single mother for her daughter.  She was always willing to help others both in her profession and personal life.

Survivors include:  Her daughter, Susan “Sukie” Kaniowski and husband Brent; three siblings, Martha Anne Johns, Mike Wheeler, and Mary Beth Horst, all of Springfield; nieces and nephews; and her canine companion, Sadie.

Her parents preceded her in death as well as her stepmother, Irene Wheeler.

A Memorial Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 16, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
