A celebration of The Life of Susan Mary Bales was held Saturday March 30th at the home in Ozark where she lived and helped build.
Susan passed away March 22nd at Cox Hospital following complications of COPD. She was born February 22nd, 1949 in Snohomish, Washington and later moved to The Dalles where she graduated from high school. She attended Oregon State University later serving as dormitory house mother.
After moving to Florida, she met the love of her life Wayne Bales and they spent 35 years together as best friends. Susan was employed in the builders hardware industry where she still has many friends. She worked as an independent self-employed contractor for the last several years from her home office before she retired. Susan enjoyed quilting, collecting Hummels, fishing, puzzles, making pies, and her grandchildren.
She leaves behind her husband Wayne, 4 children Robert Loetzer, Aaron and Sandra Bales, Melanie Gross, Doug Bales, and 9 grandchildren, Ashley, Megan, Jake, Lacy, Dakota, Madison, Ethan, Kara, and Karli. There was only one person like Susan and she will be greatly missed.
