Sue Young, age 85, of Nixa passed away Monday December 31, 2018. She was born January 29, 1933 in Almena, KS to Ted and Vurda (Dack) Fearing.
In Sue's younger days she was a professional roller skater. She traveled with the Skating Vanities which is comparable to the Ice Capades. Sue loved her family and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and grand puppy. Sue worked all her life, most of that time at Smith Glynn Calloway Clinic in Springfield, where she retired in 1982. After retiring she had various part time jobs.
Sue loved God and loved people. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Nixa for many years. She loved to witness to people. She was a member of Esther, a website of Christian ladies, where she connected with and made friends all over the world. Sue went on a mission trip to Sturgis, SD at the motorcycle rally and witnessed to the bikers.
Sue is survived by her children Judith Brackett, her husband John of Independence, IA, and Jon Freeman, his wife Dana of Marionville; grandchildren Timothy Ray Brackett of Minneapolis, MN, Jeffery Allen Brackett, his wife Desiree of Oelwein, IA, Richard David Freeman of Springfield, Rachel Diane Clemons, her husband Joe of Rogersville, Hannah Nichole Dobbs, her husband Kevin of Ozark, Sarah Danielle Secrest, her husband Austin of Nixa and Elizabeth Renee' Freeman of North Richland Hills, TX; a sister Luda Whitehead, her husband Don of Jefferson City; and a brother John Fearing, his wife Terry of Springfield.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Don Young; a brother Ted Fearing Jr.; and a son Jerry Daniel Freeman.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 2, 2019 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 3, 2019 at McCauley Cemetery, Ozark.
