Steven Patrick Breen

Steven Patrick Breen, 61, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at his home. Steve was born on July 11, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Robert and Virginia (Orlando) Breen. He married the love of his life, Nancy Burud, on January 11, 1985 at Ascension Catholic Church in St. Louis. Steve was known as the “life of the party” and had a playlist for just about every occasion in life. He was dedicated to his job as a Senior Operations Manager at UPS, and showed even more dedication when it came to his family. Steve put everyone else’s needs before his own and was his family’s greatest supporter, mentor, and problem solver. He enjoyed boating, fishing, lawncare, reading and of course, music. He has earned the dirty Bombay martini he is no doubt enjoying up in Heaven right now. Steve was a cherished brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Nancy (Burud) Breen; his daughter, Andrea Breen of Ozark; his son, Ryan Breen and wife, Nina of St. Louis; his sister, Victoria Kalkbrenner of Daytona, Florida; two brothers, Robert and wife, Debbie, and Timothy and wife, Lisa, both of St. Louis; and his faithful four-legged companion, Rocksy (Popeye). He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia (Orlando) Breen; his father, Robert Breen; his grandmother, Lena Orlando; his brother-in-law, Randolph Kalkbrenner; and his parents-in-law, Dean and JoAnn Burud. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Steve at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 30, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Springfield, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Monsignor Thomas E. Reidy officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Richwood Cemetery, Nixa, MO.
