Stephen Brent Seminoff, age 72, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on March 14, 2025. He was born on July 30, 1952, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Sammy and Doris (Shinn) Seminoff.
At an early age, Steve's family moved to Wichita, Kansas, where he grew up. He attended Wichita Heights High School and excelled in football and basketball. After graduating, he was accepted into the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he played football for three years.
After that, Steve later returned to Wichita and joined the Wichita State University football team, earning a scholarship. He graduated from Wichita State University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business. That same year during the NFL draft, he was selected in the 15th round by Coach Hank Stram to play for the New Orleans Saints.
On March 1, 1975, Steve married Sally Evenson. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their home in Nixa, Missouri.
Steve and Sally lived in Seattle, Washington, for eight years, where Steve worked for the Wichita Coleman Company and where their son Scott was born. The family later settled in Olathe, Kansas, where they lived for 37 years while Steve worked as a medical sales rep. In retirement, Steve and Sally moved to Nixa to be closer to Table Rock Lake, where the family enjoyed boating for many years.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sally; his son, Scott, of Denver, Colorado; his sister, Suzanne Seminoff; and his half-brother, Kirk Seminoff.
Steve will be remembered for his athletic achievements and the many memories he created with family.
A committal service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
