Stephen Douglas Fesperman, age 60 of Nixa, passed away April 9, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 14, 1953 in Springfield, the son of Donald Fesperman, Sr. and Betty N. (McCroskey) Fesperman.
Stephen was an executive in the fertilizer industry. He was well respected for his knowledge and expertise. Stephen loved to spend time with his grandkids and was affectionately known as Poppop. He wore that name with pride. Stephen also loved to fish and garden. He was a generous man, donating regularly to Salvation Army, Victory Mission, Ozarks Food Harvest and Convoy of Hope. Stephen helped anyone in need. He always said God blessed him, so he wanted to give back. He also was an organ donor. This was important to him especially because his brother had been an organ recipient.
Survivors include: his wife, Patricia Fesperman; mother, Betty Fesperman; son, Jason Fesperman; daughter, Alicia Idell; five grandchildren, Shelby, Ethan, Hayden and their mother, Jennifer Fesperman, Connor and Anna and their father Robert Idell; two sisters, Debra Agee and husband David and Jennifer Ewert and husband Dick Muller; father and mother in law, Floyd and Anna James; brother in law, Larry James and wife Shannon; sister in law, Beverly Trantham; and many special aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews and friends.
Stephen was preceded in death by his father; an infant daughter, Shannon; his brother, Donald Fesperman, Jr.; his grandparents, Orville and Vivian Fesperman and Elmer and Lorene McCroskey.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 14, 2014, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow in Brookline Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home.
