Stephen Wayne Branstetter, II

August 24, 1988 — September 4, 2024

Mt. Vernon

Stephen Wayne Branstetter, II, age 36, of Mt. Vernon, passed away in a car accident on September 4, 2024. He was born into his family on August 24, 1988, in Springfield, Missouri to Steven Wayne and Joyce Elyse (Breshears) Branstetter and big sister, Heather. From the day he was born, Stephen was a light in the lives of his family and friends.

When you think of Stevie (as his close family members knew him), you think of three things—his love for his family, his devotion to his faith, and his unwavering work ethic. His life was defined by these values, which he carried with him in every endeavor.

Stevie graduated from Ozark High School in 2008, where he was a proud member of JROTC for all four years. His work life began at Bumsteads working for his dad. This is where he learned to take pride in his work and the importance of a job well done. He then pursued his passion for technology, earning a degree in IT from OTC. His career began at Jack Henry & Associates. A change in career path took him to Play Power Factory before his most recent role at EFCO Corporation, both in Monett.

He cherished time spent with his loved ones, whether it was with his nephews, Landon and Hudson, his niece, Harper, or at gatherings where he filled the room with his contagious laughter. Stevie’s faith was instilled early in his life through his mother. His faith endured through the highs and lows of life. His favorite hobbies included gaming and weight lifting. Stevie’s life was filled with meaning. His memory will forever be a source of comfort and strength to all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved grandmother, Mary Breshears of Weaubleau, Missouri; his sister, Heather Holland, and her husband, Joshua, his nephews, Landon and Hudson, niece, Harper, all of Nixa, Missouri; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever remember his gentle spirit and kind heart.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Steven and Joyce, both sets of his grandparents, Alfred and Lucille Breshears, and Harry and Osa Branstetter, as well as his uncle, Charles Branstetter. While his life was cut too short, he will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Gary Mitchener officiating. He will be laid to rest at Spring Branch Cemetery in Avery, Missouri, at 1:00 p.m.
