Stanley Carl Swayne, age 81, of Ozark, passed away Monday, September 11, 2017. He was born December 6, 1935 in Chadwick, the son of John Carl and Mattie Virgil (Duggins) Swayne. He was a graduate of Chadwick High School.
Stanley started his automotive career as a mechanic for Paul Schupbach Chevrolet in Ozark and in Seymour. He owned and operated Swayne Motor Sales and S & S Auto Sales in Ozark. He had also worked for Campbell Ford and Republic Ford. He enjoyed stock car racing, motorcycle trips and hunting and fishing. Stanley was a member of Ozark Masonic Lodge #352 A.F. & A.M., and Abou Ben Adhem Temple, where he was a member of the Motor Corps.
Stanley was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen (Johnson) and his wife Evonda (Carey), two infant daughters, Rhonda and Cynthia, and his parents.
Survivors include: three children, Tony Swayne of Sparta, Shelly Kite of Warsaw, and Stephanie Williams of Madison, Wisconsin; three grandchildren, Megan Swayne, Kendall Swayne, and Stormy Kite; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Steele, Kingston Finley and Breccan Caudill; his sister, Huba Swayne of Ozark, and his faithful dog, Buddy.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 15, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Hopedale Cemetery, Ozark. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home.
