Shirley Mae Howard

Shirley Mae Howard, age 77, of Nixa passed away in Springfield, MO on January 6, 2016. She was born March 24, 1938 in Springfield, the daughter of Roy Lee Long Sr. and Eva Beatrice Gregg. Shirley was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her friends and family and most of all God. She attended One Accord Freewill Baptist Church of Nixa. Shirley was a shipping clerk for the Gospel Publishing House in Springfield for 30 years. What she loved most was taking care of her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Curtis, one son, Randall of Nixa, two brothers, Larry, wife Maria Long, of Nixa, Dewayne and wife Debra Long, of Springfield, one sister, Sharon and husband Raymon Eller, of Cumming, Georgia, and two grandchildren, Kendall Paul-Curtis and Michaela Dawn Howard of Nixa Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Barbara Keltner, and one brother Roy Lee Long Jr. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa with Pastor Bill Gilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Delaware Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
