Shirley Carlynn Glidewell, age 86, passed away in her home, surrounded by family on December 26, 2019. She was born December 22, 1933, in Branson, the daughter of Leon Ross and Mabel Kay (Kimberling) Fausett. She attended school in Branson and graduated from Hollister High School. She also attended Drury University. After meeting Donald Jack Glidewell in Reeds Spring, they were married August 1, 1953.
Shirley was Jack's life partner in all endeavors. She kept the farm records, did the taxes, helped raise three children, and wrangled multiple grandchildren and great- grandchildren, while helping manage and maintain the dairy and trucking operations. During the last few years on the road, she accompanied Jack, keeping the logbook and riding shotgun. She was a member of Eastern Star, a Girl Scout leader for 10 years, and was a member of Selmore Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends; her kitchen always offered a full cookie jar, hot coffee and, a place at the table.
Survivors include: Her husband of 66 years, Donald Jack Glidewell, Sr.; a daughter, Mary Beth Calkin and husband Barry of Ozark; grandchildren, Danny Glidewell, Ben Glidewell and wife Joni, Kimberly Glidewell, Sarah Glidewell, Tomi Glidewell, Lindsey Heeszel and husband David, Keisha Messina and husband Joel, Jackie Glidewell, Elizabeth Day and husband T.J., and Ian Knell; great-grandchildren Lyle, Chance, Taylor, D.J., Easton, Gracelynn, Pierson, Anika, Kai, Donovan, Nolan, and Josey; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jean and Bob Scott and Mack Glidewell; Denise and Rodney Fender; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Jack Glidewell Jr, and Thomas Leon Glidewell, a son-in-law, Dwayne Knell, a daughter-in-law, Micheal Glidewell, an infant sister, Betty Jo, and her parents.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 3:00 PM Saturday, December 28, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM, with burial in Selmore Cemetery.
