Sharin Kay Smith-Chaffin

Sharin Kay Smith-Chaffin, age 75, of Springfield, passed away in her home Saturday, October 14, 2023. She was born September 26, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the only child of Dwane Dafoe and Opal Leatrice (Silkey) Dafoe.

Sharin loved her family and always put them first in her life. She was a strong believer in her Lord, and attended Springfield Unity Church. Sharin always tried to help others in need. Throughout her career Sharin worked in retail sales. She enjoyed her work at Thrift Haven in Springfield.

Survivors include: Her spouse Rusty Chaffin; her children, Victoria Maples, Jimmy Ray Smith Jr., and Dickey Lee Smith; grandchildren, Heaven, Kaylee, Memory, Makayla, Coner, Zack, Dakota, William, and Cody; and nine great-grandchildren.

Sharin was preceded in death by a son, Duane Cook, a daughter, Tina Ayres; her father, Dwane Dafoe, and her mother and step-father Lea and Charles Hunt.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Springfield Unity Church, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM.   Cremation is entrusted to Adams Crematory.
