Scott Matthew Yarbrough, 68, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, with his beloved wife, Helen, by his side.
Scott was born on February 7, 1956, in San Diego, California, to Godfrey and Faith (Henrich) Yarbrough. He married the love of his life, Helen Yarbrough, on September 21, 2002, and together they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and the companionship of their cherished fur baby, Sweetie Pie.
Throughout his life, Scott had many passions. He spent his early years as a traveling photographer for Photo Corp of America and later served as the district manager for American Studios. His love for photography remained a lifelong pursuit, and he enjoyed capturing moments of beauty throughout his career.
Later in life, Scott followed his calling to nursing, graduating from Drury College and Burrell Nursing. He worked as a registered nurse for Mercy for 23 years, offering compassionate care to his patients until his retirement in 2015. His dedication to helping others left a lasting impact on all those he cared for.
Scott was also an avid guitar collector and a talented musician. He loved to play, often joining friends for jam sessions that brought joy and camaraderie. Music was one of the many ways he connected with those around him, and his love for it was contagious.
Scott is survived by his wife, Helen; his son, Jeremy Yarbrough; his stepdaughter, A. Jenny Bourgoine'-Herd; and his cousins, Barbara Leskovac and Neal Henrich. He was preceded in death by his parents, Godfrey and Faith Yarbrough, as well as his cousins Brent Hendrich and Kay Hendrich.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation preceding from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The service will take place at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri and cremation rites are accorded by Adams Crematory.
