Sam Thomas Spencer

Sam Thomas Spencer, age 69, of Ozark, Missouri passed away April 13, 2013 in Springfield, Missouri. He was born October 19, 1943 in Pocahontas, Arkansas to Thomas Spencer and Helen Casteel-Spencer-Harper. On May 26, 1984 Sam was united in marriage to Diane Pelts. Sam was a very patriotic man loving his country and proud to be an American. He was a member of Bellvue Baptist, Memphis, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his father. Sam is survived by his loving wife Diane Spencer, of the home; four children, Kris Noel Dillard and husband Tom, of Greenwood, Mississippi, Erik Spencer wife Amy, of Cordova, Tennessee, Adam Thomas Spencer, of Springhill, Tennessee, Alex Taylor Spencer and Kayla Miller, of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Rachel Dillard, Katie Busching and husband Ben, Thomas Elliott Dillard, and Hannah Grace Spencer; and his mother, Helen Spencer-Harper, of Pocahontas, Arkansas. A graveside service will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Sutton Cemetery, Pocahontas, Arkansas. A Celebration of Life will follow the graveside at 11:00 A.M. in Sutton Freewill Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 or Operation Smile, 6435 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk Virginia 23509. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri.
