Sally Ann Miner, age 88, a former long-time resident of Nixa, MO, passed away on Friday, September, 21st, 2018. Sally was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 24, 1930, the daughter of Alfred W. and Selma (Olsen) Burket.
Sally married Theron Miner on June 18, 1951. They had three children, Susie, Kathy, and John. Once Sally's children were raised, she enjoyed life as a professional woman. Sally and Theron opened the Miner Insurance Agency in Kimberling City, Missouri and later owned two women's clothing stores. She worked as the first executive director of the Nixa Chamber of Commerce for five years, and then as a program director for Junior Achievement (JA) for five years.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband Theron Bushnell Miner, Jr. in 2012, and by her daughter Susan Louise (Miner) Abbott in 2017. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Bowlds of Denver, CO; her son-in law Jeffery Louis Abbott of Newark, TX; her daughter Kathleen Marie Tulipana (Pasquale) of Kansas City, MO; her son John Theron Miner (Suzanne) of Nixa, MO; her nine beloved grandchildren; and, eight precious great-grandchildren.
Sally's true gift in life was her positive outlook no matter what challenges life presented. She was always ready to share her reassuring beautiful smile. Sally's indelible spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Memorial services will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Nixa on Saturday, October 13th, 2018, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastor Dennis Miller officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life.
Sally will be buried in a private service in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
