Ruth Ann Hanks, age 86 of Ozark, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 25, 2014. She was born October 15, 1927 in Kimball, South Dakota, the daughter of Jack Landes and Florence (Pulse) Landes.
On March 4, 1945 Ruth Ann was united in marriage to Billy Joe Hanks.
In 1958 she and Bill opened the Western Auto Store in Ozark. Ruth Ann helped her husband in the store for 35 years.
Ruth Ann was a member of Ozark Christian Church for many years, and most recently was a member of Christian Family Church in Ozark.
Survivors include: her husband, Billy Joe Hanks, Ozark; two children, Donna Hensley, Ozark and Greg Hanks, Ozark; five grandchildren, James Hensley, Ozark, Jeff Hensley and wife Amy, Ozark, Megan Doubek and husband Lance, Ozark, Dusten Hanks and wife Kari, Ozark, and Dena Hanks, Los Angeles; eight great grandchildren, Raena Nickoley, Bonnie Eggeman, Aidan Hensley, Savannah Wagner, Mya Wagner, Cori Doubek, Laney Doubek and Lucas Hanks, Ozark; a sister, Margy McKay, Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bud Landes; a sister, Mary Lou Monger; and a great grandchild, Tyler Rogers.
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday January 30, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Private burial will follow in Ozark Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christian County Historical Society to help restore the community building on the square in Ozark, or to the Finley River Community Foundation.
