Russell Shortt, age 77, of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019. He was born July 9, 1941 in Ongo, Missouri, the son of Charles Emory Shortt and Ortha Mildred (Nelson) Shortt. He attended Hall, Dogwood, and Ava schools. On July 4, 1969 he and Donna Lou Johnson were married. To this union three children were born.
Russell started his working career at Fasco. He later enjoyed becoming a Watkins and Fuller Brush Salesman over a 100 mile radius. Russell loved the Lord and became a Christian in 1998. His home church was Faith Life Church. Russell enjoyed western movies, going to garage sales, listening to old records, and working on his Dodge Dart. He loved his family and always looked forward to their visits. Russell's dog, Ginger, followed him wherever he went.
Survivors include: His wife of 49 years, Donna; three children, Kristina Dyer of Ozark, Rick Shortt and wife Hanna of Springfield, and Daniel Shortt of Ozark; two grandchildren, Elias Shortt, and Jacob Dyer; three sisters, Frieda Aday of Springfield, Marjorie Gardner of Joplin, Phyllis Pettit and husband Tom of Sparta; two brothers, David Shortt and wife, Linda of Battlefield, and Chester Shortt and wife Cathy of Galena; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Rickey Neal Shortt, a sister, Faye Adams, and his parents.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 16, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Vaughan-Oddfellows Cemetery, Ozark.
