Russell (Russ) Lee Vandiver

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Russ L. Vandiver. Russ went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 7th, 2024.  

Russ was born in Deadwood, SD April 11th, 1958 to Jack and Ruby Vandiver. He is the second of 3 children. He graduated from Houston High School in 1976 and went on to study at Evangel University. He met his wife Lori during their time at university and they were married on August 29th, 1981. Russ retired from his job as an insurance adjuster in 2019. He has spent his retirement years getting to travel the country with his best friend and wife, Lori. 

Russ has always been one to live life to the fullest. A strong quiet spirit, but one who could always bring levity to any situation. His greatest joy was found in loving his family and helping his friends. From fixing an antique truck, riding his motorcycle, or driving across the country to his next vacation destination, he found peace in God’s creation.

He is survived by his wife Lori of Nixa, MO, his daughter Kristen Garoutte and her husband Tyler of Reeds Spring, MO, his daughter Erica of Denver, CO his mother, Ruby Vandiver of Cabool, MO, his brother, Bob Vandiver and his wife Lori, and his sister Carol Wilson and her husband Shawn.

Flowers can be sent to Adams Funeral Home in Nixa, MO and a donation fund for the Houston High School Welding Program has been set up in his honor.
