Russ McLain, age 52, passed away at his home in Branson, Thursday, November 19, 2015. He was born April 15, 1963 in Mt. View, CA to Rodney McLain and Marcy (Sisk) Keith. Russ was united in marriage to Christi Taylor October 26, 1989.
Russ worked on a Riverboat on the Mississippi for several years as an engineer. He loved the water and being outdoors. Russ loved to cook and his family says he was a very good cook. He cooked several meals on the riverboat. Russ was a humble person, had a dry sense of humor, and loved telling corny jokes. He loved adventures. He went panning for gold in the mountain rivers, but never found any gold. Russ also loved animals. It didn't matter if it were dogs, lizards or snakes. Russ was loved and admired by his family. Russ always put everyone else first. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren. His grandchildren always referred to him as Peepop.
Russ is survived by his wife, Christi; his children Chris Taylor, Alyssa McLain, Alanna McLain, and Blake McLain; his siblings Randy McLain, of Collierville, TN, and Teri Hoffman, her husband Bill, of Lakeland, TN; his mother Marcy Keith, husband Ken, of Pope, MS; his father Rodney McLain, his wife Polly, of Benson, AZ; and his grandmother Mildred Sisk, of Pope, MS.
Russ is preceded in death by his step father Ken Keith; and grandparents Mary and Gordon McLain.
A memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 21, 2015, in Adams Funeral Home.
