Ruby Berniece Yates

Ruby Yates, age 90, of Ozark, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Ozark Riverview Manor. She was born March 18, 1922, the daughter of Charles and Frankie Walker of Souder, Missouri. Ruby was raised in a family of nine girls and six boys. She graduated from Gainesville High School. On December 30, 1938, she and Ernest Yates were united in marriage. To this union three daughters were born. Ruby was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She retired from AT&T in 1985 after 28 years. In 1993, Ruby and Ernest moved from Kansas City to Ozark. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest, in 2000. Survivors include: Three daughters, Mary Hale of Ava, Gwen Swearingin of Ozark, and Cheryl McClung and Richard of Holt, Missouri; five grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Todd VanGorden, Pamela and Rodney St. John, James and Sundy McClung, Jan and Brent Fleischman, and Susan and Dejan Dimitrijevic; eight great-grandchildren, Aubrey Morris and husband Joel, Samantha Stretch and husband Corbin, Taylor and Cole Fleischman, Jake, Brooke and Grant McClung, and Andrew Dimitrijevic; a great-great-grandchild Zoie Morris; a brother Don Walker and wife Carol, Van Zant, MO; and two sisters, Ruth Lindsey and husband Doyle, Springfield, and Glenda Lee, Dora, MO. Two grandchildren preceded her in death, Glenda Messersmith and Tracy Murphy. Visitation will be from 6:00 "� 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 12, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday in funeral home, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
