Ruby Marie Gregory age 97 years 3 months 7 days old of Reeds Spring, Missouri passed away March 7, 2022. She was born November 25, 1924, in Galena, Missouri to Joe Stults and Myrtle Dailey Stultz. She was married 55 years to the love of her life, William Franklin Gregory until his passing in June 1997.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson Ronnie Gregory, one grand-daughter-in-law Malissa Gregory, four brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Thelma Stultz and husband Sherman of Reeds Spring, son Roy Gregory and wife Linda of Reeds Spring, one grandson Randy Gregory and wife Lisa of Reeds Spring, granddaughter-in-law Lisa Gregory Bilyeu, three great grandsons, Austin and Ethan Gregory of Reeds Spring, Jonathan Gregory of Highlandville, two great great grandsons, two great great granddaughters, three very special young ladies, Kayla Gregory of Kirbyville, Lauren Gregory of Reeds Spring, Bailey Nelson and son of Highlandville, one step brother Dallas Bruffett and wife Leona of Galena, MO., one sister-in-law Pauline Hunt of Springfield, Mo., and a host of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Ruby grew up on Railey Creek where she lived in a log cabin. She got married as an early age. She and her husband owned a farm near Reeds Spring, MO., where she lived until she went home to be with Jesus. She lived on the farm for 80 plus years.
She worked on the farm, where they grew tomatoes. While picking tomatoes, Ruby would put her daughter Thelma in a tomato crate under a shade tree. She also milked cows and raised chickens. They grew almost everything that they ate and did a lot of canning of the garden vegetables. Ruby would gather wild grapes and plums to make jelly. She made all kinds of pies with the wild berries that she collected.
Ruby did not have electricity, so she would carry water from a spring for all of their needs. She worked in a tomato canning factory for Frank Mease. Ruby also worked at Old Gateway Café in Windy City, MO. She then worked at Shephard of the Hills for 10 years, making their famous biscuit and gravy. Upon leaving Shephard of the Hills, she was presented with a gold watch. Before retiring and enjoying her family, Ruby worked at Bowmans café in Branson, MO.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2022, at The 65 Full Gospel Church, Spokane. Visitation will be held form 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday March 12, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa Missouri.
