Roy Dean Stewart passed away on July 31st, 2023. His family is deeply saddened by his death.
Dean was born on September 24, 1952 in Springfield, Missouri to parents Leon Stewart and Walcie (Lewis) Stewart. He grew up and lived his life in Spokane, Missouri. He attended Spokane High School and earned his high school diploma. He married the love of his life on November 5, 1972, and they lived together in Spokane for over 50 years. He went on to work as a heavy equipment operator for over 40 years where he helped build many highways in the area.
Dean is survived by his wife Vickie Stewart of 50 years; his children Dena Stewart (Randy Atkinson), Scott Stewart, and Jordan Stewart (Wife Katie Stewart); grandchildren Stetson Stewart (Wife Tori Stewart), Ethan Stewart (Wife Jessica Stewart), Kadyn Stewart, Caleb Stewart, Lindsey Williams, Henry Stewart, and William Stewart; great-grandchildren Kenyon Stewart, Bentley Stewart, and Nate Williams. Forever remembered by his sister Ann Stewart. He also had a host of nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Dean is predeceased by his parents Leon Stewart and Walcie Stewart; siblings Joyce Stultz, Jay Stewart, Jean Burk, and Sammie Stewart.
Dean most enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors. He adored his children and grandchildren. He had many hobbies and interests in life. Dean had a great passion for hunting, fishing, and working on hotrods with his sons. Elk hunting in Colorado with close friends and family was one of his favorite things to do and he always had great stories to tell about those hunts. He had a love for western movies, hunting shows, and fishing shows. You could usually find him sitting on his front porch enjoying life and looking for deer.
Dean was an honest, hardworking man who would do anything for his wife and children. He was a one of kind dad who loved his children deeply and a great man to anyone who knew him. He was a man of many talents and much knowledge that others could look up to as a role model in their lives. He made a great impact on so many people. He will be forever and greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Jim Campbell officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. immediately before the funeral in the funeral home.
