Roy Junior Greenway, 72, of Galena was called to Heaven on April 30, 2021 in his home with wife Lora and daughter Dena by his side. Roy was born on July 14, 1948 in Ponce de Leon, MO to the late Orvile and Lorene (Grisham) Greenway.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife Lena (Hembree) Greenway and sister Shirley (Greenway) Bowling.
Roy married Lora (Wilson) Greenway in 1992 and they brought one daughter and five sons together: Rick Greenway of Crane MO; Larry Harness and wife Geneva of Clever MO; Dwight Harness and wife Toree of Springfield MO; Jacob Harness and wife Tamra of Littleton CO; Dena (Greenway) Meadows and husband David of Highlandville MO, and Chris Harness and wife Wendy of Battlefield MO; as well as 19 grandchildren;18 great grandchildren; Roy's surviving three sisters and two brothers, Ruby (Greenway) Metcalf and husband Johnny of Springfield MO, Lonnie Greenway and wife Susan of Galena MO, Becky (Greenway) Aschwedge and husband Bruce of Galena, Sharon (Greenway) Melton and husband Roger of Nixa MO, and Donnie Greenway of Nixa MO; and a host of extended family and friends.
Roy was a heavy equipment operator all his life and owned Roy Greenway Trucking. In his retirement Roy raised beef cattle while putting up hay and loving the great outdoors as well as hunting and fishing. Roy also enjoyed spending time with his family and he and Lora traveled when they could. Roy was the biggest joker and enjoyed pushing anyone's buttons that was handy.
Roy, Dad, Pops, Papa will be missed by those who loved him.
Services will be Monday, May 3, at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa MO. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m and funeral at 12:00 p.m. with final resting place at Bowling Chapel Cemetery Crane MO, following the service.
