Roy Bilyeu, age 79 of Ozark, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at home with his family after a long illness. He was born June 30, 1936 in Walnut Shade, the son of Lee and Muriel (Weatherman) Bilyeu. He was raised by his grandparents Elmer and Duffy Weatherman. Roy married Janice in 1977 and they have lived in Ozark ever since. Roy and Janice loved traveling and have been all over the United States before he became ill.
Roy was a member of Sparta Assembly of God Church for 20 years. He loved his church, gospel music and his church family. Roy retired from Trailways Bus Company before becoming a driver for Diversified Plastics of Nixa for 10 years.
Survivors include: his wife Janice of Ozark; his brother Argel Bilyeu and wife Rita of Ozark; sister-in-law Darlene Bilyeu of Nixa; daughter Sandy Countryman of Rogersville; stepdaughter Debby Blain and husband Jim of Ozark; grandchildren Justin Countryman of Rogersville, Brittney Taylor and husband Jeff of Strafford, Coltin Countryman of Rogersville, Stevi Woodruff of Michigan, Jared Jimerson and wife Amber of Hootentown and Garrett Blain of Ozark; and great grandchildren Kirsten, Sadie, Jeff Jr., Ruby, Liberty, Emery, Valorie and Glen.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and brothers, Wilbur and Ray Bilyeu.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, officiated by Pastor Darrel Mead. Burial will follow in Highlandville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 p.m. immediately before the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
The family thanks Oxford Hospice, Roy's nurses, aid Lacey, Chaplain Randy and wife Linda who sang to Roy, Amber Medical Staffing, Christina and Whitney. You all are very special. God bless you in your service to others.
