Rosale Carter, 86, of Nixa, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 in Commerce, Texas. Rosale was born on July 23, 1928, near Nixa, Missouri, the youngest of six children born to Bert and Mary Ellen "Ella" (Payne) Maynard. Rosale was a 1946 graduate of Nixa High School. She was united in marriage June 19, 1948, to Kenneth Wade Carter, who preceded her in death in 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Tilford Maynard; three sisters, Josephine Maynard, Leota Harding, and Ruth Albrect. Rosale was a cosmetologist a few years, stay at home mom, worked at M&R Appliance, and was an employee of the Springfield School System for 17 years. After retirement, she volunteered her time at Thomas Elementary School listening to children read. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nixa for 72 years where she served as a youth leader, mission's supporter, and Sunday school teacher. Her current Sunday school class, Lydia's Lamplighters is a group of prayer warrior friends who will miss her dearly. She was exceedingly proud of her affiliation with the Nixa Parent Teacher Association, the Public Building Corporation for the City of Nixa Municipal Building, the Nixa Recycle Center, the Retired Teachers and School Personnel Association, the Nixa Garden Club, the Baptist Nursing Home, and the Nixa American Legion, of which she was a charter member. She was a member of the Christian Business Women's Club, the Nixa Women's Club, and helped lead devotionals in the Motor Coach Ministry in Branson, Missouri for two years. She was instrumental in making certain that the children of The Bramblewood House in Nixa had a Christmas. Rosale also contributed benevolently outside of Nixa. She was a supporter of Warsaw Baptist Theological Seminary, in Warsaw, Poland and helped build churches in Belarus. She helped support the children's ministry at Reunion Church in Dallas, Texas. She was most recently a supporter of the western culture for salvation and the youth program at the Cross Trails Cowboy Church in Fairlie, Texas. Rosale saw the impact that the local Boys & Girls Clubs of America made locally and became a nationwide supporter and champion. For 65 years, Rosale was a caring and helpful neighbor to all who lived on State Street, willingly gathering up the children and taking them to church and VBS. Survivors include a son, Collin Wade Carter and wife Hattie, Nixa; a daughter, Colette Young and husband Larry, Dallas, Texas; one grandson, Caleb Wade Carter and wife Andrea, St. Louis; one granddaughter, Callie Linville and husband L.G., Nixa; a sister, Lorene Murray, Springfield; a brother-in-law, Earl S. Carter and wife Jimetta, Raymore; three great-grandsons, Harrison Wade Carter, Kenneth Wilson Carter, and Brett Linville; three step granddaughters, Jennifer Painter, Laurie Reed and Andrea Dobler; four nephews, Leon Koenig, Benny Gard, David Carter, and Steven Carter; four nieces, Mary Ann Rebori, Vivian Johnson, Linda Kincade, and Susan Felber; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 in the First Baptist Church, Nixa, with the Rev. Benny Gard and Rev. Dr. Richard Eakins officiating under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Nixa. Burial will follow in Payne Cemetery, north of Nixa. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Nixa, MO with a designation to missions or Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
