Rondal Lindsey Fisher

January 13, 1930 — April 1, 2012

Rondal Lindsey Fisher, age 82 of Ozark, passed away April 1, 2012 in the Baptist Home. He was born in Blytheville Arkansas on January 13, 1930, the son of Irl Lindsey and Anna Mae Fisher. Ron"�s early years were in the Holland, Missouri school systems. At the age of 14 his parents moved the Couch, Missouri where he finished his high school education. He went on to attend Missouri University in Columbia. Ron served a year of active duty with the Navy and six years of inactive duty. Rondal married Tilda Ann Trantham on June 20, 1953. Survivors include: his wife; two sons, Jeffery LaWaun Fisher, St. Charles, Missouri and Rondal Kelly Fisher and wife Darla, South Hutchinson, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Danielle Perrin and husband Cary, Hannibal, Missouri, Jennifer Dement and husband Gabe, Sikeston, Missouri, Andrew Fisher and wife Jessica, St. Charles, and Lindsey and Karissa Fisher, South Hutchinson, Kansas; and five great grandchildren, K.J., Van and Molly Ann Perrin and Karleigh and Tucker Dement. Ron"�s first public employment was in civil service government offices in Washington, DC. He later transferred back to St. Louis. While in St. Louis he accepted the call to ministry and began ministry as Assistant Pastor of West Park Baptist Church in St. Louis. He finished his undergraduate degree at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. He then completed his Master of Divinity degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ron pastored churches at Sorento, Illinois, First Baptist Church Van Buren Missouri, Riverview Baptist Church in St. Louis and First Baptist Church Affton in St. Louis. He was Assistant Pastor at Christ Memorial Baptist Church, St. Louis and First Baptist Church LaGrange, Missouri. He led music at Port Caddo Baptist Church in Marshall, Texas. In retirement he did interim work and taught/led small group Bible classes. His membership was at First Baptist Church West Plains, Missouri. He leaves a great legacy of love for God and his family. He will be missed but we are so grateful for the wisdom, love and memories with which he has blessed us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Baptist Home, 1625 W. Garton Road, Ozark, MO 65721 or in care of the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 5 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday in the funeral home.
