Ronald Calvert Houchens, age 72 of Ozark, died January 8, 2024. He was born October 10, 1951 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the son of William Calvert and Mildred (Youchom) Houchens.
Ronald served his country in the U.S. Army as a First Calvary Door Gunnar. After serving in the military he attended culinary school and worked as a chef before his retirement. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. They were his life and meant everything to him.
Survivors include: his children, Rebecca Johnson and husband Christopher Downes of Ozark, Billy Jean McLaughlin and husband Michael of Bend, Oregon, Amanda Houchens of Oregon, Ronald Houchens, Jr. and wife Kimby Maxon of Oregon, and Kelley Ching of Oregon; his grandchildren, Harley, Mazie, Sparrow, Michael, Mia, Aiden, Seth, Kyren and Cole; his great grandchildren, Amaya, Aundi and Hades; a nephew, Crist Garcia and wife Amber Cochran of Oregon; and his nieces, Caitlyn, Breanna, and Aerianna of Oregon.
Ronald was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Houchens; his sisters, Sue Houchens and Brenda Carney; the mother of his children, Donna Otis; and a nephew, Tony Garcia.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory and arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
