Roger Brian Ward passed away October 6, 2023. He was born June 27, 1964 in Fresno, California, to parents Jerry and Norma Ward. Roger was the youngest of three brothers.
In 1969 after multiple relocations the family settled in Ventura, California, where Roger attended Serra Elementary School, Balboa Junior High and Buena High School.
In 1980 Roger relocated to the Springfield, Missouri area with his parents where he attended Republic and Hillcrest High Schools and ultimately graduating from Hillcrest in 1982.
In 1999 after retirement, Roger's parents returned to the Southern California area. Roger remained in Missouri in the area he considered his permanent home.
Rogers professional career included roles at Ozark Ophthalmic Laboratory and Heffington Optical. In the late 90s and early 2000s, Roger also realized success as a self-employed Commercial Dog Breeder. In 2005 Roger assumed a position with the Spokane RV11 School District in Maintenance and grounds keeping. In 2014 he transitioned into the role of IT Technician and in 2021 became the Director of Technology for Spokane. In 2010 in addition to his day-to-day responsibilities Roger assumed the role of Assistant Softball Coach and in 2016 also took on the role of Archery Coach.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his brothers Steve (Sharlene) and Scott (Ellen) of Ventura County California. Also surviving are Amy Ault of Bolivar Missouri, Collin Ault, Peyton and Madison Bonzer as well as multiple loving nieces and nephews in California and the Pacific Northwest.
A private visitation was held for Roger at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
A memorial service will be held for Roger on Saturday, October 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Spokane High School with Dr. Wade Bridges officiating.
Cremation rites were accorded by Adams Crematory.
