Rodney J. Kirk, age 78, of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019. He was born May 9, 1941 in Deshler, Nebraska. He was married to Nadine Roberson on June 6, 1984.
Rod served his country in the U.S. Army, was wounded in Vietnam, and became one of our honored disabled veterans. He was an active advocate for veterans rights. Rod retired from being a bus driver in Denver, Colorado, and also from Kraft in Springfield, Missouri.
Rod loved the outdoors and traveling. He enjoyed road trips to many places throughout the United States.
Survivors include: A son, Ralph Kirk and wife, Lisa of Independence, Missouri; a daughter, Tammy Nielsen and husband Scott of Punta Gorda, Florida; grandchildren, Joanna McDonald and Cody Carsten of Ozark, Austin Nielsen and Brianna of Northpoint, Florida, Amber Whittemore and Shane of Port Charlotte, Florida; and great-grandchildren, Cooper Carsten, Madelyn Whittemore.
Rod was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine in 2018, two brothers, Danny and Rowdy Kirk, a son Rodney Kirk, and a daughter, Teresa McDonald.
A graveside funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 11, in Eisenhour Cemetery, Spokane, under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
