Roberta DeCocq

Roberta DeCocq, age 79 of Ozark, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016. She was born November 21, 1936 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Cordia (Coulter) Shields. On August 9, 1958 Roberta was united in marriage to Norman DeCocq. Norman preceded Roberta in death on June 29, 2008. Roberta was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers and sisters. Roberta was a past president of Evangel University's Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed genealogy and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include: her son, Matthew DeCocq and wife Janice, Springfield; two daughters, Jacqueline Gathman and husband Jonathan, St. Louis, Missouri and Valerie DeCocq, Joplin; and three grandchildren, Lauren, Eliott and Josiah Gathman. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2016 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from noon - 1 p.m. immediately before the funeral service on Monday. Donations may be made to Evangel University.
