Robert William Burns

Robert William Burns was born on July 22, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas and Mildred (Rielly) Burns. Robert passed away on December 17, 2023. Robert was united in marriage to Margaret Ellen Walter on February 2, 1971.

Robert valued protecting and loving his family. Robert served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He valued his work as an Air Traffic Controller. Robert enjoyed freshwater fishing for a variety of fish, working in his yard, was an aircraft enthusiast, was an animal lover and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.

Survivors include: Robert's wife Margaret Burns; a son Timothy Burns and his wife Loretta “Ann” of Ozark; two daughters, Alice Irene Ault and husband David James of Minnesota; Christina Rita Haustein and husband Paul Matthew of Ozark; two grandsons Jess Bryan and Devon James Richards; and a sister Mary Burns Jaster of Anthony, Arizona.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Patrick Burns.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, December 19 at 1:00 PM and Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield Missouri with full military honors. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made to any pet rescue or veteran's organization.
